Nestled just outside of the picturesque village of Erin, Ontario, Canada (5 minutes from Hillsburg/45 minutes north of Toronto/20 minutes south of Orangeville/20 minutes east of Guelph and Georgetown) Bold Canine Inc. Obedience, Pet Services, Shiloh Shepherds, and Raw Foods focuses on pet care services, and the promotion of the majestic Shiloh Shepherd breed by providing a quiet country setting while maintaining strict breeding standards.

Caroline is a full time, and industry recognized professional trainer/animal behaviorist. Although her specialty involves dogs requiring aggression work, she handles all types of training and obedience programs - ranging from Puppy Classes straight through to Advanced Training. She is a member of a number of professional organizations (including the team lead for the 2011 CAPPT Conference in Toronto), travels to various seminars throughout the year, and is always working to stay abreast of the latest training techniques and philosophies. Dave had been in the transportation sector for over 20 years, and in 2007 created his own company to service the trucking industry. In the fall of 2009 he left the world of commercial transportation to join Caroline in pursuing a passion of caring for dogs and cats. Dave heads the Bold Raw Operations team focusing on the development of the raw food division of the Bold Canine family of services.

Caroline and Dave are the guardians of six fantastic Shiloh Shepherds. Bold Canine's first Shiloh Shepherd, Gunner, joined the family in March of 2003 after an adventurous trip to Prince Edward Island that included a small cargo aircraft flight with Dave via four provinces in one night.

After the loss of their humane society rescued mix breed shepherd, Cooper, to cancer in the summer of 2003, the growing family was blessed by the addition of Maggy from breeders Jan and Louis Burke of Miracle Shilohs. Maggy could not be a part of a breeding program with Miracle Shilohs, but there was room in our home and hearts for this special lady. She is still the matriarch of the pack and doing well at eight years of age.

In December of 2004 Lola, joined the pack. Lola has a gentle, sweet personality and rarely does anything that doesn't involve running! She is a certified St John Ambulance Therapy Dog, and has produced some wonderful progeny - including our own Brooklyn. Lola has since retired from breeding and is content to sit back and relax.

The Bold Canine pack grew again in July 2006 with the addition of Aly. Aly came from the Faith/Sampson breeding at Genesis Shilohs in Belleville (see also under our Breeder's Link Section). Be sure to visit Aly's page for updates on her development, health testing results, show, and working/obedience career. Aly's first litter was to the magnificent Gunner in December 2008 and produced 7 gorgeous, healthy, well tempered Shilohs. Aly had a second litter in August of 2009, again with Gunner, and this time had 9 stunning pups. Aly's next breeding will be in the fall of 2010.

The Bold Canine Shiloh Shepherd Pack continued to grow again in January 2008 when Brooklyn joined the team. Brooklyn came from our own breeding between Lola and the incredible Gunner! Brooklyn has earned her father's size, with her mother's grace, temperament, and flowing movement. She has performed wonderfully in the conformation ring her first year with numerous Best of Breed Puppy placements, and Best in Show Puppy, and took her first Reserve Best in Show along with two Best of Breed and two Group First placements in March 2009! In the Spring of 2009 she was named the 2008 ISSDC Puppy of the Year, and also won the 2009 ISSDC National Show the same weekend! Her year went on to be extremely successful as she won multiple Best in Show titles, was named the Top Shiloh Shepherd for 2009 with the RBCSWO, and finished 3rd overall out of all breeds! We could not be more pleased with her and are extremely excited about her Spring 2010 breeding with Bismarck.

And, as if five wasn't enough, Matilda (page coming soon) - aka Bold's Version 2.0 (being our first second generation Bold Canine dog!) joined the family. Matilda was one of the gorgeous 11 puppies that came from the Jade/Chase pairing at Checkmate Shilohs. Jade was Bold's first progeny from the Lola/Gunner pairing. Matilda has a lively but sweet temperament, and if dogs could smile, she'd have a grin from ear to ear 24/7! We will be excited to breed her sometime in 2011.

The family transplanted from Toronto to rural Erin in the spring of 2004 to provide a spacious outdoor environment for the special Shiloh Shepherd "children" (Gunner and Maggy at the time). With a multi-acre forested property and a sleepy rural street, the Bold Canine Shilohs are able to fully enjoy the fresh clean Canadian outdoors, while living inside a loving home environment.

Although the Bold Canine furry kids love to frolic in the yard and forest, their home is truly inside the house with the family. Like a true pack, all they sleep in the main bedroom with Dave & Caroline (although Gunner can be a notorious hog of the bed or TV room couch!).

Families seeking either puppies from one of these beautiful girls (Aly or Brooklyn and Matilda), or studding by the Canadian/American/Breed champion and OFA Excellent male (Gunner) are strongly encouraged to come visit and see first hand the care, love, and home that all of the Bold Canine Shilohs are given.

If you're looking for a dog, you've come to the wrong place. If you're looking for a new furry family member to warm your home and your hearts, give Caroline & Dave a call.

Please continue to search through the Bold Canine website and learn more about these incredible kings & queens of the canine world.

Kindly note that the Bold Canine Puppy Waiting List can vary in length. Bold Canine is not a mass producer of puppies, but rather endeavour to produce a few high quality Shiloh Shepherd litters a year using select dams and sires that must meet the Bold Canine (and the Shiloh Shepherd Registry's) strict health requirements. In addition to health testing requirements, all females and studs are Breed and Canadian Champions in conformation, and earn at least one working/obedience title prior to entering the Bold Canine program. Every one of the Bold Canine puppies are Dave & Caroline's responsibility for life - 24/7/365 and for this reason they are only placed in the most loving and suitable homes.

The linked document was produced by the Canadian Kennel Club and is entitled "The Golden Rules to Finding A Reputable Breeder". For the Bold Canine team, this document is exactly what a quality breeder should be providing you (at the very minimum). Although, the Shiloh Shepherd is a rare breed and is not yet part of the CKC (we have our own recognized registry being a rare breed- TSSR).
